Kuramathi Island Resort Holidays 2016-2017
Luxury Maldives Holiday
This large island seamlessly combines laid back Maldivian life with an extensive choice of facilities.
One of the Maldives’ most popular islands, Kuramathi is ideal if you're seeking variety as well as relaxation. Pathways are set amongst the lush foliage, leading you to the excellent facilities that are dotted around the island. There’s an oceanfront infinity pool plus a lagoon-style pool shaded by palm trees, and snorkelling on the stunning house reef is possible directly from the beach.
For dining, you’ll be allocated a buffet restaurant determined by the location of your villa. If you book the Select All Inclusive package, you'll have the option to eat at other restaurants offering a great choice of cuisine – including the popular Island Barbecue on the beach. Of the bars, favourites include the Sand Bar for sipping cocktails while burying your toes in the sand, and the Laguna Bar for the best views at sunset.
Rooms on the island range from simply designed Garden Villas and Beach Villas nestled in abundant vegetation (but just a short walk from the beach) to Deluxe Beach Jacuzzi Villas that face the lagoon. For the iconic overwater experience, opt for one of the Water Jacuzzi Villas, sitting on stilts with direct access to the ocean. New villas – including two-storey Two Bedroom Beach Houses ideal for families or friends travelling together and Sunset Pool Villas that sit at the edge of the beach, partly overwater – are available from March 2016.

Restaurants & bars
The three main restaurants – Haruge, Malaafaiy and Farivalhu – are buffet style, and you’ll automatically be allocated one of these depending on where your villa is located. If you choose Full Board or All Inclusive, this is what’s included.
We recommend upgrading to Select All Inclusive to get the full choice of à la carte restaurants. The island’s newest restaurant is Duniye, at the heart of the island, serving up ‘fine dining world cuisine’ and excellent wines. Siam Garden offers Thai cuisine – there’s indoor dining, but why not opt for a table amongst the lush vegetation outside. Tandoor Mahal is a traditional Indian restaurant, and Palm serves up Mediterranean dishes.
For fresh seafood, The Reef is an intimate venue towards the tip of the island. There’s also a coffee shop, a popular Island Barbecue on the beach and six bars around the island ranging from a pool bar to a wine and cigar lounge. You’ll love drinking fruity cocktails while perched on a comfy beanbag with your toes in the sand at the Sand Bar, and the views from the Laguna Bar’s outdoor deck at sunset. If you're on Full Board, visit any of the bars between 6-8pm and enjoy the Happy Hour discounts!
Spa & wellness
The Spa at Kuramathi is set amidst lush vegetation. Offering a selection of treatments based on traditional rituals from Europe, India, Thailand and Indonesia, it uses only the best YonKa and Voya products and natural oils and ingredients. There’s a focus on couples – as well as seven beachside couples’ treatment rooms, there’s a couples' water pavilion massage room and a private herbal bath treatment room. Before your treatment, relax in the Spa Lounge and enjoy a specially blended herbal tea.

Diving here is particularly impressive, with the Rasdhoo Atoll featuring more than 20 sites that can be reached in just five to 45 minutes, including the world famous Hammerhead Shark Point, which is less than 10 minutes away. Dive sites vary between channels, walls, reefs, thilas and even a couple of wrecks.
The marine life is diverse and abundant, including different types of sharks (and you will see sharks on almost every dive), eagle rays, stingrays, manta rays (November to April), turtles, barracuda, tuna, Napoleons, morays, schools of jacks and trevally, leaf fish and even the occasional whale shark.
Rasdhoo Divers operates two dive schools on the island (both PADI Gold Palm/SSI facility/International Aquanautic Club). The multi-lingual team offers an excellent diving experience for both beginners and advanced divers.
The dive program for certified divers includes early morning Hammerhead Shark Point four times weekly, daily morning and afternoon dives from both dive schools, night dives four times weekly, full day safaris to North Ari Atoll twice weekly and other half day trips to North Ari Atoll.
Trips depart on purpose-built 15m diving dhonis. Group size for certified divers is usually maximum 6 divers per guide and experienced divers with a minimum of 50 logged dives can dive unguided if they wish. Courses run with max. 4 students per instructor.Kuramathi also features a fully-equipped medical centre with hyperbaric chamber.
